Liposuction is the removal of fat from specific regions of the body, especially the abdominal region, hips, thighs, buttocks. The number of fat cells in a person is fixed from the birth. When you gain or lose weight, the number does not change, but the volume of each cell changes. This means that the shape does not change with weight loss. Only liposuction can change the number of fat cells. After liposuction, fat cells do not accumulate in that region. For this, liposuction is used for shaping (contouring) as well.
Why it's done
Liposuction is not a weight loss method. It cannot be used on overweight people and there is a maximum amount of fat that can be removed. It is specifically used to change the composition of certain areas of the body after diet and exercise resulted in failure.
Also, after liposuction is performed, the removed fat can be transferred to certain areas such as the buttocks or the breasts for an augmentation. As the fat is removed from the person itself, it does not cause adverse reactions in the body that filling materials cause.
